Sean Hanna is one of the UK’s leading hair salon groups.  Winners of hundreds of awards, the brand is internationally recognised for its innovative signature hair-cuts and colours.  The key to their success is their passion to educate and motivate their team and consistent training and encouragement has put them at the forefront of the UK hairdressing industry.

In-line with this commitment, the company recognises and celebrates their nurtured in-house talent with an annual awards show, hosted this year at the renowned Rivoli Ballroom.  The awards enable the creative team to show what inspires them and how to create their signature looks with a catwalk show.  Models are transformed live on stage to inspire the audience.

RG Jones were contracted to provide audio visuals for the evening.  Project Manager Jack Bowcher explains “the evening had a Dirty Dancing theme and began with a pre-show, which of course included the famous lift.  We were asked to provide sound for the multitude of dancers, speeches, the catwalk and then the awards themselves.  It was a very good night and you could see how much the staff enjoyed it”.

The Rivoli Ballroom is quite a place.  The last remaining intact 1950’s ballroom left in London.  The building has been granted Grade II listed status by English Heritage for its historical and architectural interest. It has been a popular choice for huge productions such as Strictly Come Dancing, The Avengers and the new film, Legend with Tom Hardy. It’s also been a venue of choice for Florence and The Machine amongst many others and RG Jones also provided AV solutions for Alison Goldfrapp.

“We used the Martin Audio MLA Mini and DD6’s” continued Jack “running off a Yamaha QL1, we added extra subs for a greater impact for the winners.  Cameras on site filmed the hairdressing taking place so we could show how it was done in more detail to the audience.   It was a fully immersive experience”.

RG Jones engineer George Beeby was on site to assist Jack.  “Even though I wasn’t born when Dirty Dancing first came out, it is still my favourite film.  It was a fantastic evening, the highlight for me was the lift performed by the dancers.  That will stay with me forever.”

The team from RG Jones provided all the tech support for our company awards ceremony – they were super professional, proactively helpful and a pleasure to work with. Jack and Sam were particularly helpful to our own tech guys and helped make the whole experience stress free.

A genuine 5 star service and highly recommended. Thank you to all the team.
