If you talk to anybody in the production industry about their experience of the summer of 22, you can be pretty sure that you’ll be met with a pained expression and a stream of expletives followed by words like mad, nuts, mental, ridiculous, crazy, and bonkers. It was for sure one of the busiest anyone can recall, as the UK events scene put the hammer down trying to make up for lost revenue from the previous two years of upheaval. Thankfully, the weather was pretty fabulous throughout – the concept of a summer this busy with mud and rain doesn’t bear thinking about.
People, equipment, transport and all manner of resources were at a premium for everyone, everywhere, and RG’s was no exception. What to do in a situation like this? Knuckle down and graft, and that’s exactly what we did. Read full TPI article “A Summer like no other” here
We take a look back at the year; from international sports in some of the UK’s most iconic stadiums (Wembley, Twickenham, MCC Lords, Wimbledon, to name just a few), to prestigious music festivals throughout the year (BBC Big Weekend, Glastonbury Festival/Glastonbury Abbey, Henley Festival). Live music provides a special magic that cannot be felt sitting in front of flat screens. More and more venues are looking to upgrade their installed system to accommodate live music and we have been involved with a number of high profile venues, but that’s as much as we can say at this time. The show would not go one without our incredible crew, who always go the extra mile. Here’s hoping 2023 will be a slightly smoother journey!
